KIDS ARE THE REAL “VIP”
The SELF LEADERS INITIATIVE is an after-school program based in Los Angeles, California. In the second largest school district in the nation. It was created specifically for children and teens on the Spectrum, but intakes at-risk youth and gender-nonconforming youth. The Initiative was launched in 2017, with a successful starter pilot and 5-year contract with LAUSD. The SELF LEADERS INITIATIVE has been sponsored by notable institutions who, like us, see the need for a niche program that brings arts, health, and behavior to the forefront.
We are dedicated to the long-term mental, physical, and emotional health and wellbeing of at-risk youth. Through innovative programs and partnerships rooted in shared experience, our coaches guide vulnerable youth with the resources and skills they need to thrive.
S.E.L.F - Stands For:

S.E.L.F. teaches kids a variety of extracurricular and life skills—including financial literacy, public speaking, self-care, art, and music—to enable them to succeed in school and beyond.

S.E.L.F. supports kids on their educational journey by providing homework help, personalized tutoring and by instilling organizational skills and time management.

S.E.L.F. helps kids become socially and behaviorally congruent by using restorative discipline to redirect misbehavior, encourage positive behavior, and keep kids connected to the school community.

S.E.L.F. implements comprehensive fitness training to channel kids’ energy in a positive way, improve their mental and physical condition, and thereby build confidence.
